Visible Again . . .

Whew! There were a lot of words in that last post, no? And you've learned more about me than you ever wanted to know, right?

So how about a Visible Monday post to quieten things down a bit, let a bit of air in. . . This outfit's Visibility is from a few weeks ago, before we had our snow and ice and buckets of rain. It was too tough to get outfits and photographs organized during that weather -- how do you people in less clement climes do it?!
My photographer humoured me in trying out some new poses; I'm almost as credible raking the yard as I was chopping the firewood . . .
Outfit breakdown: Orange/rust sweater, Eileen Fisher; mushroom turtleneck, Aritzia; mushroom cords, Gap; boots, Acne; and once again, I'm wearing a favourite red pendant I picked up in Lisbon a few years ago -- I love that pop of red against the orange.

Be sure to check out all the other women modelling stylish variety over at Visible Monday.

And thanks so much to all the new followers -- and those who comment. It really does encourage me (now you decide whether or not that's a good thing!)

  1. I so enjoyed learning more about you in your previous post! And brava for getting your PhD after age 50. I was 40 when I got my master's degree and felt so proud. And coconut ice cream . . . I must have some soon. I really like your rust sweater with the bold red pendant - very nice!
Thanks so much for linking up to Visible Monday, you are a welcome guest *any* time.

    1. I like the combo as well, although I'm not sure I'd have the confidence to include a bigger patch of red.
We're pretty happy with the patio -- got a fellow islander to put it together for us a few years ago, and think he did a great job.

  4. I love that pop of red too! And your Acne boots are just great, they add a nice hit of chic to all your casual outfits. And what a gorgeous gazebo! Is it covered with grapevines in the summer, or some other trailing plant? P.

    1. Thanks, Patricia -- I'm really liking the boots, find them quite versatile. And yes, in the summer the gazebo is covered with clematis and roses -- and the roses are fragrant. Ah, summer. . .

  5. Really love the pops of color on you! This is such a great look and the aqua rake makes a wonderful accessory/prop.

    1. Thanks! Hmm, never thought of the aqua, just of the rake as rake, but it does make an interesting combo. . .

    1. Thanks. The necklace always reminds me of a hot June day in Lisbon, the charming Artisan/Owner who sold it to me, her delightful little shop . . .

  9. I second the admiration for your colours and, the aqua broom- who knew it could be the perfect accessory?

  11. Oh my goodness. Is this your patio? I love it and can already imagine it overhung with vines. The rust looks lovey on you and I love how you call this color "mushroom."

    1. I tried different colour names but they didn't quite work. Not completely sure "mushroom" does, but it was either that or "mouse"!

  12. Very nice outfit, love the oversized layer on the slim pants and long sleeved top. And the colours are perfect. Orange is tricky to use and have it look chic, not Halloween or Harley-Davidson!

    1. Thanks! I do always think twice about the orange, wanting to avoid both the vibes you mention.

    1. I'll admit I just love the sweater as well. An Eileen Fisher, it's of a very fine merino lacy knit pattern, so that while it gives some warmth, it's light and easy to wear.

  14. Mater, that is one of the most beautiful outfits I've seen you wear. I love the color combinations, the way the knit sweater fits, the boots, and even the broom!

I'd love to hear your response to my post. Agree, disagree, even go off on a tangent, I love to know you're out there, readers. Let's chat, shall we? I apologize, though, for the temporary necessity of the Word Verification -- spam comments have been tiresomely numerous lately, and I'm hoping to break that pattern.
