Gloomy Beauty -- A Neutral Palette to Inspire

I am so pleased with this photo -- I do hope you enjoy it as well. If you have a minute, click on it for the larger view which will fill your screen with glaucous serenity. I have more photos and a few words later on, but I'm still marking stacks and stacks -- and my gloom isn't as beautiful as this sea-skyscape.

  1. Oh, it's just dreamily beautiful.

Heh, word verification is "corses," what you're grading papers for!

  2. I want to download and put that as my screensaver on my iPhone. It is THE perfect picture for a moment of Zen.

  5. As if Agnes Marin were a photographer. Would love this as a full wall mural. But then I would never go anywhere.

Hostess: maybe you'll boat up this way next summer. . .

  7. Taking time from my stacks to visit...I am always impressed by the way the sea/ocean conveys its own mood.

  8. Dadgummit, that was "Agnes Martin". But if you crossed Agnes Martin with a sailor...

  9. Duchesse: I'd be embarrassed that I didn't know this name -- except that now I have the joy of discovering a brilliant new-to-me artist. And what a compliment to be compared to her . . .

  10. That photo is bliss, and my favorite colors too. I agree with the screen saver or the wall idea. I'd love a bedroom fashioned around it. And yes to the Agnes Martin as well. There are two rooms of Agnes Martin's works at Dia Beacon and it is one of my favorite places to go and retreat from the world.

  11. I'm off to Google Dia Beacon . . . thanks for the tip.

I'd love to hear your response to my post. Agree, disagree, even go off on a tangent, I love to know you're out there, readers. Let's chat, shall we? I apologize, though, for the temporary necessity of the Word Verification -- spam comments have been tiresomely numerous lately, and I'm hoping to break that pattern.
