My new haircut

Okay, so here's the new haircut -- not great photos 'cause I'm taking them myself with my arm stretched way out. My hair's new quite dry here, and later on I picked it out to get a bit more volume on top. I love the sides, which you can see below -- they're supposed to grow in over the next few months for more length and fullness.

Here's a shot without my glasses. Again, you can see that it will be better with a bit more volume on top and a loosening up of the bangs for more brow coverage, and that's what happened as the day went on.
Want to see the other side too? I really like the way the lowlights show up here -- they tended to disappear into my longer curls.
This was a bold and unexpected move for me, but I'm pleased that I made the change. Now I'm off to meet Paul for dinner (in Vanc'r) at Gyoza King -- can't wait to see his surprise (hope Meg didn't spill the beans!)

  2. Wow! Is your hair naturally so wonderfully curly? It is so shiny too. I admire your braveness. I am very conservative-same hairdo for years.

  4. I checked in especially today in the hope you had posted photos! It looks really great. I envy the ability to just pick with a comb to get volume. Very stylish! Patricia

  5. Thanks, all! And yes, metscan, those curls are all natural -- I know, I know, I'm very lucky. But you probably realize that we curlyheads often look enviously, wistfully, at our straight-haired sisters. I can never, ever leave the house in the morning without at least soaking my hair thoroughly as part of the styling process.
And Meg, I knew you wouldn't tell.

  11. Thanks Alison -- it's a big change, isn't it!
Duchesse: Thanks, I'm really happy with it, and I do think I'm lucky to have a hairdresser who "gets" me, as you say, so well.
You have a Happy Thanksgiving as well!

  12. I love the angle of the cut. Your curls look even more lovely!! And, I bet you just have to put a little mousse in and then go. Huh? Le sigh! You are a very lucky woman!

Happy thanksgiving to you, Pater, and all your darlings!!

  13. LBR: Thanks! And you're right, it's pretty much work in product, establish part, shape, scrunch, and go. I do have to wet it completely every morning -- without a wet-down, there's no way the bedhead could return to anything that could be seen outside the house.

I'd love to hear your response to my post. Agree, disagree, even go off on a tangent, I love to know you're out there, readers. Let's chat, shall we? I apologize, though, for the temporary necessity of the Word Verification -- spam comments have been tiresomely numerous lately, and I'm hoping to break that pattern.
