the weekend that was . . .

My granddaughter Harriet, very mobile now, such a joy - we babysat her for a few hours on Saturday.

Family, a little marking, some shopping for staples that I needed to pick up in Vancouver (our special blend of smoky teas, my secret-weapon hair product, and perhaps a pencil skirt and t-shirt), and a very long run (29.7 kilometres, managed without a single fall!). That was my weekend.
Lovely, it was, especially since Pater started it off with a romantic Valentine's meal built around lamb shanks. Tulips in a favourite colour. Pinot. . .
But now it's Monday, and we have to be on the road by 7:20 to catch the 95-minute ferry ride back to Nanaimo to get the work week started. At least the rough winds and seas have calmed.
Hope your week has started well also. . . Happy Monday!

  1. She's such a cutie! It's one of my favorite ages, the early toddler.

Have a safe trip back to your Big Island.

  5. What a sweetie!
I hope your sail home was better than mine over to the mainland late Sunday afternoon. What a trip!

  6. Thanks all! A Nana's biased, but I'm glad to hear you all chime in about H's cuteness. And yes, Madame, there's mischief in that smile, isn't there?! Lorrie and Pondside, wasn't it crazy? We would have had a challenge getting home on Sunday. . .

  7. She looks like a little mover! And that smile: certainly a family resemblance there. What a sweetie!

I'd love to hear your response to my post. Agree, disagree, even go off on a tangent, I love to know you're out there, readers. Let's chat, shall we? I apologize, though, for the temporary necessity of the Word Verification -- spam comments have been tiresomely numerous lately, and I'm hoping to break that pattern.
