Blurry Photos of Boots . . . Check!

My American readers are all too busy with Thanksgiving to care, but did I make a bunch of rash blog promises a few posts ago? Sparkly holiday wear, running updates and workout gear, yada yada yada. . . .

And all these promises made brashly despite the reality of tooth infection (did you know these seep through one's entire system for a general fatigue and potential flu-like malaise?). . . .

But I see a promise I can keep without too much effort, albeit via bloggy photos (it's so dark here in the morning and the mirror technique precludes use of flash) . . . I promised you a peek at my new boots, and voilà:. . . my new Fluevogs, spectacularly wearable for a 2 1/4 inch heel.  Above with a dress I couldn't resist at the Gap 'cause it's fleecy sweatshirt material printed in a tweedy houndstooth. AND it has pockets!

Below, with the coat I inherited from my Mom, the sweetest little cashmere blend peacoat ever, a flared bottom giving its classic look a bit of sass. . .

Now that I've kept at least one promise, let me wish all my U.S. readers a very heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving. May you have the most joyous day with your loved ones -- or, if you're not able to be with those, may you love the ones you're with! And may the warmth of that Thanksgiving time around the table carry you through the next few weeks and right toward the solstice, to Christmas, and the turn into the New Year.  I must say that I love our Canadian Thanksgiving, a good month earlier, much less burdened with expectation and tradition. But I also love the prod to be thankful again. And again. And again.  So much room for gratitude. Even for those of us who have root canals in the offing. . . .

  1. Oh yes - always room for being thankful!
Your boots and dress are winners! The dress reminds me of one of my new favourites, from Papillon - a very affordable line of colourful knits - best worn with leggings or tights and boots with a bit of a heel.
Looking forward to the post on sparkling festive outfits!

    1. Don't s'pose you'll model your dress. . . it sounds as if you wear it just the wear I prefer to -- simple but with a bit of sass! And yes, I'm getting the sparkle ready to post.

    1. Thanks, I really applaud my Mom's taste here -- the fit-and-flare of the coat is so feminine, yet in a tailored classic way.

  4. Love those boots - actually I can just copy Lorrie's comment and call it a day :-)

  5. That looks comfy. Everyone here is in down and hats, wind chill at -18!

    1. We're scheduled for lows of minus 7 next week -- not nearly as frosty as your temps, but I'm still dreading it. . . and getting the next layer ready.

  6. I am enjoying a second crack at gratitude. Those boots look so comfortable and fashionable. It's so nice that you can wear your mom's coat. I've enjoyed 18-22 degrees and coming home to -7! Quelle horreur!

I'd love to hear your response to my post. Agree, disagree, even go off on a tangent, I love to know you're out there, readers. Let's chat, shall we? I apologize, though, for the temporary necessity of the Word Verification -- spam comments have been tiresomely numerous lately, and I'm hoping to break that pattern.
