Four grown kids, five delightful grandchildren, constant, long-time partner. A retired academic, I've recently moved with my husband from a waterfront home on a very small (Canadian) West Coast island to a condo in the city (Vancouver). Keen to discover what new priorities emerge, what interests persist in this urban life after 60!
We added two more colours to our collection of beach chairs -- I trusted to Paul's choosing, knowing I'd love a random effect (he asked for the pink one, was corrected by the floor staff that it was fuschia, hmmm). . . and I do, so summery . . . (by the way, each of these chairs was transported to the beach by wheelbarrow and boat, as we have no car on the island and they're a bit too heavy for the front of Pater's bike!)
I love the way they look empty, waiting for festivities, but quite happy to shelter more contemplative moments. . . .
And speaking of contemplative, I love the way they look when they're working hard, holding up a momma and babe. . .
