New blogging technology . . . Pains and pleasures of the Learning Curve

I'm surprised and pleased to see how quickly I'm adapting to my mini iPad, and I'm grateful that Sue/UneFemme recommended Blogsy. The netbook we took with us on previous trips is giving out a huge death rattle, so this switchover is clearly meant to be. That said, Pater is bringing along his laptop, heavy as it is, because he may have to keep up with some contract work while we're away, and he doesn't yet believe in the little guy's efficacy for documents. I must admit I share his suspicions and will be glad to have the full keyboard, good word-processing software, and bigger screen as a resource, but I'm hoping to discover that I could manage on the mini if necessary.

Thoughts? Benefit of your experience? Questions?

  1. a bluetooth keyboard is a worthwhile addition to your arsenal, and then look at some Office-type apps. keep pushing the limits, even though it's just an Apple

  2. I'm thinking I might "borrow" the bluetooth keyboard Paul got for Christmas (my daughter got it for him to go with the mini iPad I got him) since he hasn't ended up using it.
I'm having more fun than I expected in learning a new environment -- I expected to be continually frustrated and instead there are tricks and tools that are rather fun.
But I'm still liking my Android phone and Google Chrome and so on . . .

  3. Did you have an iPad before the mini? My MacBook Air felt cumbersome this year but I think that I would need a keyboard. It is a steep learning curve for me because I often have to troubleshoot myself.

    1. No, the mini is my maiden voyage into Mac/Apple territory. I found it quite easy although to be fair my sons-in-law/love were really helpful. I think if you got the elegant little case-cum-bluetooth-keyboard that my husband has (really light), you'd be set, and if you got it a month or two before your next trip, and picked up a few apps, you'd be set.
