Happy Birthday, Dear Nola!

It's been a busy, busy weekend, and rewarding. I'm too tired to post much, having missed my intended ferry due to a huge traffic jam in Vancouver this afternoon (the Lion's Gate bridge was shut completely for several hours), but thought you might like to see these photos. Above, four generations of our family's women. Mom/Granny loved seeing Nola -- Mom's suffering some memory loss -- Mild Cognitive Impairment -- and that's hard for me to see, quite sad really. But she's doing quite well considering and seems to be adjusting very well to her lovely new condo with its beautiful views. And here are some shots of charming Nola at her first birthday party. I may show you a few more of these over the next few posts -- I brought my Nikon DSLR this time rather than just my little Canon. It's hard to get a decent angle to get shots when the room's so full, but I snapped a few I was quite pleased with. Above, the requisite messy birthday cake (carrot, yum!) photo-op, and below, Nola models her new Joe Fresh hoodie (thanks Auntie Rhiannon!).
And doesn't that barrette just make you giggle? It does me, every time. . .

That's all for now. Hope your weekend was good as well, and that you're all ready to go again. Monday, here we come . . .

  2. That's a great photo of the four generations. How'd you get the barrette to stay in? I have much more hair than Nola and I've given up on those things! :0) Patricia

  3. She always looks so happy, does she ever cry? And yes the image of four generations is one to blow up big and treasure.
Don't ask about my weekend, I blogged it. Yes it was that bad.

  8. Thanks Angie and Thanks, LBR -- does she really look like me? I can see my SIL, and occasionally my daughter, but after that I'm just too close, I guess.

I'd love to hear your response to my post. Agree, disagree, even go off on a tangent, I love to know you're out there, readers. Let's chat, shall we? I apologize, though, for the temporary necessity of the Word Verification -- spam comments have been tiresomely numerous lately, and I'm hoping to break that pattern.
